Wedding of Rachel & David at Crowcombe Court, Somerset

Last week I travelled back to Somerset in preparation for the wedding of Rachel and David at Crowcombe Court near Taunton.  I lived in Somerset most of my adult life so it was fab to be back down there. Having travelled down Wednesday night, I headed off to the venue the next morning where Rachel met me.  I get very excited to photograph at a venue I’ve not been to before.  Crowcombe Court is absolutely stunning. The lovely Hayley from Mrs DeBeers was busy creating Rachel’s stunning 1940’s wavy hairstyle.  She then proceeded to create beautiful french plaits on the two flower-girls Hattie & Jessica. Once the girls hairstyles were complete, Hayley then focused on make-up for Rachel.  It was a such a lovely atmosphere in the studio room where all the girls were getting ready.

I was in and out of the room having gone to meet David and chatting to some of the guests arriving.  The lovely ladies from Bouquet Florist Somerset were working exceptionally hard making the ceremony space look absolutely amazing.  They had already delivered the bouquet and button-holes downstairs to the studio room.  The flower girls wore pale blue dresses  with little white boleros.  Rachel looked exquisite in her beautiful gown from Rookery Bridal in Rooks Bridge .  Her son Kalum walked his mum down the staircase into the ceremony room to a nervously waiting David.

Friend Henry conducted the bible-based wedding talk and ceremony.  It was a beautiful day and with ceremony complete, guests enjoyed welcome drinks and posed for photos on the steps. The grounds of Crowcombe Court are fabulous for photos … but the interior is equally divine if the weather isn’t great. After photos, the bridal party enjoyed a stunning three-course meal – the food was amazing (compliments to the chefs!)  I smiled to myself as I heard happy singing coming from the kitchen!  🙂

All the staff were lovely and worked really had to ensure the day ran smoothly.  So many things impressed me with this wedding …. no more so than the AMAZING white chocolate-covered wedding cake by Gem 42 in Newport … honestly the artistry involved was outstanding!  🙂  It was a fabulous day for Rachel and David … which continued with some dancing downstairs once the evening guests arrived.

I know the newlyweds are now enjoying some time away in Cornwall – and I wish them every future happiness.  I hope you’ll enjoy looking through a selection of photos from throughout their big day below:
