Wedding of Jake & Briony

10th August turned out to be a very special day – the wedding of Jake & Briony! I met all the girlies around 7.30am where they were having their hair and make-up done: Hairs & Graces salon in Griffithstown. The bride-to-be was there with her two sisters and best friend who were all bridesmaids. They all looked very fetching in their ‘Bride’s Squad’ pink jammies!. Joining them was mum and aunties. Apparently they have been attending this same salon for many years and know the girls there well. Although sadly it was a grey and very wet morning, it certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits! The prosecco and strawberries were in the glasses and the excitement was building! As each lovely lady had their hair done, they then disappeared into the back room where friend Lucille Thomas MUA worked her magic. With everyone looking gorgeous, the Bride Squad headed home to get ready.

The bridesmaids were wearing beautiful long dusky-pink dresses – these and Briony’s gown were all purchased from Gardenia Bridal in Usk. The colours matched the gorgeous bouquet’s which arrived from Mrs Bouquet’s Florist in Griffithstown. When Dad appeared, he looked very smart in his blue Welsh tartan kilt which all the boys were wearing. It was soon time to head out in the rain to All Saints Church, Llanfrechfa. Despite the grey skies, Briony lit up the church with her big smile. We were hoping to get photos in the grounds of the church after the ceremony. However due to the inclement weather, everyone headed back to their reception venue : a huge marquee in a friends field in Ponthir!

The Reception:

Jake and Briony plus family and friends had all worked very hard to ensure the marquee looked lovely for their wedding. There was a mobile bar and a hog roast for their afternoon wedding meal. The cake stand had been specially made – and looked spectacular! The girls had been very busy baking gorgeous cakes to put on it! Although it rained on and off throughout the day, when it stopped we would dash out for some photos. We even had a bit of sunshine and managed to get some beautiful – and very funny pics! Once everyone had eaten and the speeches were over, the DJ arrived to kick off the evening activities – and I eventually left them dancing the night away.

Jake and Briony I wih you (and baby Henry) every happiness in your future family life together. Hope you enjoy seeing a small selection of your photos 🙂
