Last week I had the great honour of photographing the wedding of Ellis and Lia at Llechwen Hall. I love all my weddings (& couples) but this one was particularly precious as Ellis is my gorgeous nephew. We don’t see much of him as he has lived in Germany since the age of five. His parents and siblings all arrived a few days before the ‘Big Day’. I met Lia in the bridal suite on the morning of the wedding. The fabulous Megan, hair stylist at The Cutting Corner by Megan was very busy working her magic on Lia. She had already completed styling the groom’s mum and sister! After taking some bridal prep photos, I went down to photograph the reception room. The happy couple had been very busy decorating it and it looked fabulous. Lia had chosen a pale blue colour scheme. They had also suggested blue or green outfits for the girls and blue or beige for the boys! Ellis’s mum Cindy had made the brides bouquet, button-holes and posy for flower-girl Keeley.
Lia looked absolutely stunning in her bridal gown (brought over from Germany!) Their ceremony was at 1pm in the historic Jail House. I was delighted to find the gorgeous Nerys Clark, Cellist there entertaining everyone with her musical talents! Lia was walked down the aisle by her father-in-law Oliver. The wedding ceremony & talk was conducted by Ellis’s Uncle Dale. The happy couple had chosen to read their own vows to one another – which had quite a few of us in tears! After an emotional ceremony, we headed out into the beautiful sunshine for photos and bubbles (literally)!
It was the most glorious day with lots of fun and laughter (and initially a bit of shivering from the cold!) Friends Lea and Paul had travelled all the way from Thailand to join them in their celebrations. Later in the afternoon, Llechwen Hall delivered a fabulous ‘wedding breakfast’. There were lovely speeches by mum, dad and cousin Nathan. The delicious carrot wedding cake had been made and iced by cousin Bianca & hubby Jimmy. There was a very funny slide-show of photos, and all sorts of games afterwards including ‘Mr & Mrs’!
Ellis & Lia, I know you’re now back in Hamburg. I wish you both the longest and happiest of marriages. I hope you’ll enjoy looking through a small selection of your wedding photos. Hopefully, it will bring back happy memories of a very special day! 🙂
