Wedding of Charlotte & Lewis at Maes Manor Hotel

On 12th August I travelled the short distance for the wedding of Charlotte and Lewis at the Maes Manor Hotel, Blackwood.   I found the lovely bride-to-be and her bridesmaids up in the bridal suite.  The very busy hairdresser was Hair by Rachel Starr and Louise Carr MUA doing make-up.  Flower girls Alayah and Amelia were being most supportive (and providing entertainment)! 🙂  I popped over to see groom Lewis who was getting ready with the boys. I also managed to meet both grandads who had the privilege of walking Charlotte down he aisle.  The beautiful bridal party flowers arrived from The Cottage Garden Florist in Nelson.

Sadly the weather wasn’t great but everyone was determined not to let it spoil the day. The ceremony was at 3pm and as Charlotte descended the stairs, both Grandad Dave and Grandad Keith were at the bottom for their first look!  Charlotte welled up immediately!  It was a real privilege to be able to document Grandad Dave walking Charlotte half-way down the aisle. She then accompanied Grandad Keith who walked her the rest of the way down to meet her about-to-become husband!

After the ceremony, we were unable to do outdoor group photos due to the rain.  We then re-organised the furniture in the bar and had fun in there instead!  There were lots of gorgeous children at this wedding including Charlotte & Lewis’s baby boy Jayden.  In many ways, I love a rainy-day wedding as it forces people to stay indoors and chat to everyone!  We still managed to achieve some fab photos (whilst occasionally dashing outdoors in between showers).

In the evening, The Big Guy provided entertainment and amusement aplenty!  Two of Charlotte’s guests both called Isabelle had their upcoming birthdays on the same day.  Mark (The Big Guy) got them to sing a little song and provided each of them with a helium-filled balloon at the end.

It was a fabulous day and Charlotte and Lewis are now delighted to be ‘Mr & Mrs’!  I hope you’ll enjoy viewing a small selection of their photos below:
