Last week I was delighted to document the wedding of Mike & Bethan at Canada Lodge & Lake in Cardiff. This is the second time I have met up with this family as I photographed Bethan’s daughters wedding last year. Sadly in 2020 we are under Covid-19 restrictions, so all weddings are so much smaller. Bethan and Mike were still allowed 30 guests so they had their nearest and dearest with them. They were already legally married in the afternoon at the Cardiff registry office. After a short break, everyone then met up at Canada Lodge and Lake for their evening reception. It was a fabulous evening but I knew we would lose the light quickly. This time of year, the evenings are now drawing in rapidly.
Bethan looked amazing in her beautiful dress from Willows in White and holding flowers by Flower Power, Church Village. She made a grand entrance down the steps into the hotel with the evening sun slowly setting behind her. We escaped out onto the beautiful lawns for group and ‘couples’ photos – a fab location by the lake. It was really lovely seeing everyone again and meeting Bethan’s new grandson Myles. After photos, everyone settled back inside for their evening meal. We had the traditional cutting of the cake and first dance. After this, I left the happy couple to enjoy the rest of the evening with their family and friends.
