Fabulous Rhymney wedding for Sarah & Leon. This lovely couple literally live one street behind each other – and around the corner from St David’s church in Rhymney! They have known each other for decades but after all these years, finally got together. Not only was it their wedding day but BOTH their birthdays … no excuse for forgetting your anniversary now! I met Sarah at her house along with bridesmaid Claire and the lovely lady doing har and make-up. I popped up the road to meet groom Leon who was getting ready with his best man Kev and Sarah’s two boys Fred and Harri. Back home, Sarah’s mum and dad called in – as did her two boys once they were all ‘suited & booted’! Sarah and Claire were very relaxed and full of giggles once they had gone upstairs to get ready.
The boys walked down around the corner to the church and were patiently waiting for the beautiful bride to arrive with dad. What no-one knew was that Sarah had managed to acquire a ‘Lollipop Man’ (in the form of eldest son Harri)! He proudly stopped the traffic with his traffic ‘lollipop’ to allow mum, Claire and his grandparents across the road. After a lovely ceremony, he did the same again – only this time with newlyweds Sarah and Leon! It made for some great photos and happy memories. The reception was literally down the road in the Rhymney Rugby Club. The staff there had worked very hard transforming the main function room into a beautiful reception venue! Sarah welled up when she finally walked in to see the room transformed. It was a gorgeous September afternoon so great for photos outside with the beautiful valleys backdrop below.
It’s surprising how quickly the time goes on a wedding day. After photos, food, speeches and cutting of the cake, it was time for the first dance. Leon proudly walked his new bride onto the dance floor. I was as usual expecting some lovely slow, romantic song to come on – but not with these two! They both started jiving to some rocky song before inviting others to join them – made me giggle! Sarah and Leon are a fabulous, fun couple who are now enjoying their honeymoon in Egypt.
Guys, I hope you’re having a fabulous time and enjoy looking through a small selection of your wedding photos below:
