Last weekend I returned to my old stomping ground of Glastonbury for the wedding of Lucy and Dale. I have known the gorgeous Lucy for many years so it was an honour to be able to capture her precious wedding photos.
I arrived at Lucy’s parents home to find an absolute houseful of mostly girlies getting ready! Lucy’s dad and Noah the little pageboy were trying to keep themselves out of harm’s way! Some of the girls were still at the hairdressers but lots going on. It was a gorgeous morning – and turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year! With the girls almost ready, I headed off to St Mary’s Church in Glastonbury in preparation for the ceremony. Lucy and her bridesmaids soon arrived in a gorgeous VW Camper van. Lucy looked stunning in her beautiful gown and the amazing bouquets complemented the bridesmaids’ fuchsia and mauve dresses.
It was a lovely ceremony and Lucy and Dale were soon pronounced ‘man and wife’. We then headed back out into the bright sunshine. With a few photos outside the church, the guests headed off to the reception venue.
RECEPTION:
Woodford Farm in Wells is an absolutely gorgeous setting for wedding photos! Lucy and Dale – along with friends and family – had worked extremely hard to get the marquee looking amazing. Outside there were covered hay bale seats, giant Connect, crazy golf and a coconut shy game for the youngsters! Dale had skilfully made their own giant LOVE letters with built in lighting for when it got dark. It was the most amazing day and in the evening, there were lots more visitors. Some of Lucy’s friends and colleagues arrived to provide the evening entertainment. There were several different bands including 12 piece Somerset band dt8.
As darkness descended, Lucy and Dale handed out sparklers to their guests for some fun photos. Everyone’s wedding day seems to fly by so quickly. I know Lucy and Dale are now on honeymoon in Sorrento. Guys, you had an awesome day and it was a privilege to be a part of it.
