Abergavenny Wedding of Sarah & Rob

On the morning of 27th July, I travelled to Abergavenny in preparation for the wedding of Sarah and Rob. This lovely couple are both members of The Gateway Church in Abergavenny. Sarah and her bridesmaids were getting ready at the Monk Street building. There were lots of ladies milling around including Sarah’s sister Joy (matron of honour), five bridesmaids plus Daniella the flower girl.  The lovely ladies doing hair and make-up were kept very busy! It was a very chilled morning with plenty of space to move around which was nice.  Wendy from Nantyderry Garden Centre arrived with the beautiful bridal flowers late morning.  Not long after, the lovely Wyn from Windsor Wedding Car Hire arrived to collect the bride and bridesmaids.

Sarah looked fabulous in her beautiful dress from Jewels and Gems in Usk. Her bridesmaids were in gorgeous aquamarine gowns from the same store. The ceremony was taking place at St Mary’s Church in Usk.  I left before the bridal party to head off to the church and set up for their arrival. As both Sarah and Rob’s parents have passed away, Sarah was being walked down the aisle by her brother-in-law Carl.  Due to an unexpected mishap, the ceremony was delayed for a while as Matron of Honour was stuck in Abergavenny!  Hubby had inadvertently taken her car keys so friend Dylan that Sarah has known since childhood frantically drove back to deliver them.  We made good use of the time and got some fun photos in the grounds of the church whilst waiting for Joy.

The ceremony was conducted by Pastor Sally and it was a lovely service.  At the end, a small step-stool was produced so that Sarah could enjoy her ‘first kiss’ with 6’7″ new hubby Rob!!  We were soon back out into the sunshine and celebrating the newlyweds.  The reception was being held at The Rehoboth Centre back in Abergavenny – the other part of The Gateway Church.  Sarah and Rob had chosen a lovely ‘bee’ theme so colourful yellow with accents of the aquamarine to match the bridesmaids dresses.  Guests were treated to a hog roast and jacket spuds provided by Tasty Tatoes of Abergavenny. Magician Chris Nichols entertained the guests until a fabulous Beatles tribute band appeared on stage!  I finally left the happy couple as the dance floor was filling up.

Congratulations Sarah and Rob on becoming Mr & Mrs!  Wishing you both a very long and happy marriage.  🙂
