Abergavenny Wedding of Alice & Simon

Last weekend turned out to be one of the hottest of 2021 – and the Abergavenny wedding of Alice and Simon!  This gorgeous couple actually married the day before in Cardiff – so had chosen the beautiful, rural Wern-Y-Cwm Farm for their wedding celebration. After all the continuing drama with the covid regulations, things were still changing right up to just before the wedding!  Sadly that included me ending up in hospital – so my amazing colleague Lewis kindly stepped in and saved the day.  However, I was with him in spirit whilst recuperating at home.  I was editing the photos afterwards so couldn’t wait to get my hands on them!  Even though Wern-Y-Cwm is not a licensed wedding venue, they are able to hold celebrations there.  As Alice and Simon were already legally married, they had hired the venue for the weekend for their celebrations.

Many had stayed at Wern-Y-Cwm the night before, so when Lewis arrived, everyone was very chilled. Flowers had been delivered by Field Day Flowers based down the road in Abergavenny.  Kirstie from Luxe Lengths Bridal was busy doing Alice’s hair.   This gave Lewis chance to check out other parts of the venue and also see the guys getting ready.

It was soon time to step out into the sunshine and repeat their ceremony for friends and family who hadn’t witnessed it the day before.  Alice looked utterly stunning in her dress by Stephanie Allin Couture.  The backdrop for this wedding is absolutely breath-taking – just perfect for photos! 🙂  With the ‘ceremony’ part of their celebration complete and photos taken, the happy couple and their guests made their way into the coolness of the great barn.

The awesome food was provided by Capital Cuisine Caterers who the couple said surpassed all their expectations!  The Welsh mackerel and Welsh lamb were divine. In the bride’s own words “Colin is the most chilled man I’ve ever met who made the whole experience calm and professional!” Now you couldn’t get a better review than that!  Later in the day, with everyone relaxed it was a fun time for more pics.  The Brother Ray Wedding Band then arrived to set up for the evening entertainment ahead!

I know Alice and Simon are now away enjoying their honeymoon in the Lake District. Alice you looked utterly stunning on your wedding day – tell Simon from me he’s a lucky man!!  ðŸ™‚  I wish you both every happiness in your future together as husband and wife.
