Wedding of Sarah & Gavin

Last Saturday I travelled to Monmouth for the wedding of Sarah and Gavin. This was to be my last wedding of 2019 and I was delighted the forecast was good. Their ceremony was at 2pm at the Old Penallt Church so I arrived early to go and meet Sarah where she was staying nearby. Her hair had already been completed by Jess Byard – Wedding Hair Designer and looked fab. The gorgeous Christina Cooling MUA from Monmouth was busy making up the bride-to-be. She then moved on to Eleanor – Sarah’s daughter and bridesmaid. Sarah had chosen a beautiful deep red colour scheme – which was the colour of Elie’s off-the-shoulder dress. Sarah’s son Jamie, the groom, best man and both dads all looked fab in matching colour ties. The beautiful flowers by The Ivy, Newport were delivered directly to the Church.

Gavin moved to Monmouth from Surrey when he was five. His grandmother is buried at the Old Penallt Church so it’s lovely they could have their wedding there. Sarah arrived in a gorgeous navy Jaguar driven by best man (and new brother-in-law) Lloyd. It was a really lovely ceremony and so nice to see Sarah and Gavin looking so happy. Although it was dry, the grounds around the church besides being very elevated, were also very soggy! However, we stuck to the paths and were able to get some lovely outdoor photos before heading back to the reception.

Reception at Pelham Village Hall

Pelham Village hall in Penallt is minutes from the church. It had been beautifully decorated in a matching red colour scheme with lots of twinkling fairy lights. Initially guests were greeted with welcome drinks and mince pies and happy to be in the warm. Jane White Catering of Monmouth prepared a beautiful three course meal. After the meal, Gavin and then his brother Lloyd gave speeches with a slideshow of old family photos giving everyone a good giggle! We did the cutting of the cake and before I left, we managed to get in some pretty sparkler shots.

Sarah and Gavin – it was a fabulous wedding and I wish you both every happiness for the future. Hope you enjoy seeing a selection of your pics below:
