Wedding of Liane & Nathan at Cardiff Castle

Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of documenting the wedding of Liane and Nathan at Cardiff Castle.  Liane and her ‘bride squad’ were all getting ready at The Hilton Hotel, just up the road.  I had already spotted the stunning ‘Asquith’ vintage wedding bus from ‘I Do’ wedding cars waiting outside!  All the boys (& gal) were sat inside waiting to leave for the Castle. They all looked fab in their blue suits. I was able to grab a few photos with them before they headed off.

I found Liane in her room along with her close friends (one couple had travelled all the way from USA!) The girlies were still wearing their matching bride squad silky dressing gowns!  Hair and make-up had already been completed by River Hair and Glam by Grace.  Liane was wearing a beautiful teal dress for her wedding from The Pretty Perfect Boutique. She had cleverly attached an ankle length veil to the rear of her gown! Her outfit was completed by a stunning bridal hat by Alison Tod Milliner of Abergavenny.  With everyone looking fabulous, we headed down in the lift to the waiting chauffeur.

It had been raining so as we entered the Castle for the ceremony, it was still very wet.  Thankfully, by the time we emerged for photos, the sun had come out and it was lovely. A group of Liane’s close friends had all brought specially made ‘unofficial bridesmaid’ signs which was very comical!

The staff at the Castle were so lovely and helpful and ensured everyone was happy.  A gate was briefly unlocked so we could have a photo on the steps of the ancient Norman Keep.  Liane & Nathan were also kindly allowed up on the locked balcony so I could get a good photo for them.  Back inside, I had the privilege of being taken to some of the stunning rooms for photos with the newlyweds.  We were taken to the amazing Banqueting Hall, the Arab room, the Library and a very opulent staircase!!  I was only with the happy couple for a few hours. Once they sat down to enjoy their meal, I said my goodbyes.

I know Liane and Nathan have been travelling in Italy this week with their best friends from America.  Congratulations you guys.  It was so lovely to be able to spend a few hours with you documenting such a lovely afternoon.  Wishing you both a very long and happy marriage 🙂
