On Friday I had the pleasure of documenting the long-awaited wedding of Jackie and Wayne at GreenMeadows. This couple had already been together for 14 years and were finally ‘tying the knot’. The ceremony was being held at the Pontypool Register Office at 12.30pm. Sadly the weather was not being kind and it was a rather wet Friday! However, that didn’t dampen anyone’s sprits inside the building. The bridesmaids looked lovely in their purple and lilac dresses. Pageboy and ring-bearer Kyle looked exceedingly smart – with a special briefcase in which to hold the rings. When Jackie finally walked in on the arm of her brother, Wayne’s eyes filled with tears. After the vows, Kyle presented the wedding rings out of his special briefcase. With the ceremony, complete the bride and groom appeared on the steps of the Registry Office – and were covered in confetti!
Family and friends then made their way up to the GreenMeadow Golf Club in Cwmbran. It was still wet so we initially had to stay under the Reception canopy until later in the day and photograph indoors. The lovey staff at GreenMeadows served the guests in the restaurant with a three-course wedding breakfast. Wayne had two best men who then proceeded to give their speeches. Wayne is an ex ski-instructor and also really into his rugby. Much to their amazement, their best man had managed to extract lovely video messages from some very famous celebrity sports stars (including Leigh Halfpenny) which was relayed to the room by a large TV! Jackie jokingly presented Wayne with a ‘ball & chain’ and some rubber gloves (for the washing up!) Lots of flowers and gifts were presented to loved ones who had participated and helped make their day special.
By the time the meal and speeches were over, the sun had finally come out. I managed to coax Wayne and Jackie outdoors for some further pics. I then left the happy couple in peace to carry on with their evening’s entertainment. No doubt they danced the night away! Please find below a selection of images from their wedding day on Friday:
