Newborn Session with Baby Evie

This week I had the pleasure of meeting mum Emily for a newborn session with baby Evie. Emily had intended to also bring her three year old son but sadly he’d gone down with conjunctivitis. Her lovely Nan was kindly child-minding! Due to circumstances, little Evie at 19 days old was about a week over what I recommend for newborn posing. This is purely due to the fact that the older they get, the less sleepy and more alert they are. Hence this makes it much more difficult to obtain the sleepy newborn poses we try to achieve.

Emily decided to feed Evie when she arrived to try and get her back off to sleep. Nope … Evie wasn’t having any of it! It’s almost like they know something is going on! She was determined to have a good look around and be nosey! I never do more than one newborn session a day as baby rules the day. I never want either myself or a new mum to feel under a time pressure. My shortest newborn session was around two hours and they average around three. On this occasion, it took much longer to finally get Evie back off to sleep!

It is always worth the effort of persevering during a session to achieve some great photos. Baby changes so quickly in the following weeks and months, you can never get that time back. Your images will become precious memories for the future. I’m sure you’ll agree, little Evie is absolutely beautiful and when she eventually settled, was a perfect little angel! I still enjoyed the cuddles in the meantime!

To Book a Newborn Session:

If you or a loved one in your family is expecting and would like to arrange a newborn session, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Email: or ring 07890 395732. I have a dedicated newborn page where you can read what happens during a session. If a group of workmates wish to club together to purchase a session as a gift for a colleague, I also provide gift vouchers.

Congratulations Emily and Adam on producing a beautiful baby daughter – she’s adorable! 🙂
